Soul Healing

As I was experiencing some minor health symptoms today I sighed, “How long, Lord? When will my miracle be complete?”  Oh, it’s close.  It really is.  I am healthier than I have been in 30 years.  These minor issues are the final step.  But the Lord reminded me again of the key:  “Dear friend, I pray that you are doing well in every way and that you are healthy, just as your soul is healthy. ”  3 John 1:2 (ISV)

It’s the soul health that is the key.  As my soul comes into wholeness and healing, my body responds and also comes into wholeness and healing.

I hear so much about healing – mostly physical healing.  I know it happens – God will miraculously touch someone and they will experience a physical healing.  Is it out of the blue?   Was their soul healed prior?  I don’t know.  All I know is this scripture is steadfast in my life.  My soul has to heal and then my body heals.

How does a soul heal?  By being in the Presence of God.  Period.  There is no “program” or “steps” that work.  No “sermon” that will guide you.  No “teacher” necessary. (Hebrews 8:10, 11) You just spend time in His Presence in worship and in fellowship.  It’s called “the secret place.”  Just me and Him.  Just His agenda and my willingness to hear, wait and abide.

This sounds good but is harder than you think.  It requires surrender, patience and imagination.   Surrender is necessary because you won’t relax until you let go your thoughts, your agenda and your will.  You will need to be relaxed to abide.  Patience is needed as nothing moves fast in God’s abiding place.  He is incredibly patient.  He waits until each millimeter of your soul is complete before He moves forward.  Trust me, you will be challenged in the waiting part of this process!  And imagination is necessary as you must “see” Him as He is, where He is and in the way He shows Himself to you.  Right now.  Right here.  Right in this moment.

Can you see Him?  Wait.  Surrender.  Wait some more.  Worship Him while you wait.   There He is, on His Throne, in the garden, in front of you, in your past, in your present and in your future.  He will come to you and you will see.  Then abide.  Just rest there.  Listen.  Notice what He is showing you.  Follow.

This is abiding.

This is your soul prospering.

This is you healing.

Let it happen.
